Nike gears up for their first Air Max Day celebration of the new decade with a trio of releases — the Air Max 90 SP “Reverse Duck Camo”, as well as their newest silhouette to feature a visible Air Unit, the Air Max 2090, releasing in both “Reverse Duck Camo” and “Pure Platinum”.

Already celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the Air Max 90 SP draws inspiration from the 2013 collaboration with Japanese retailer Atmos, remixing the classic duck camo pattern and swapping the black upper for infrared mesh. Black detailing is also found throughout, while infrared Nike Air branding finds its way onto the heel, tongue label, and mid foot. The colourway is then finished with a white midsole and infrared once again at the outsole.

Transitioning from past to present, the new Air Max 2090 features obvious design DNA borrowed from its predecessor, the AM90, while updated material use, a cropped Swoosh logo, updated branding, and a larger Air Unit window brings the silhouette into the 21st century. The “Reverse Duck Camo” colourway includes the same camouflage pattern and bright accents as the aforementioned Air Max 90, this time hiding the camo beneath a black, semi-translucent textile upper. Pops of infrared are then found at the heel and midsole molds, in addition to stitched detailing at the mid foot. Similarly, the “Pure Platinum” colourway features a translucent white upper and white leather paneling at the mudguards. The largely colourless upper is then accented by vibrant blues and reds found at the stitching, outsole tread pieces, as well as the heel pulls. The silhouette is then finished with a black mesh tongue and underlying heel counter.

All three silhouettes release this Thursday, March 26th, through an Instagram-based raffle which ends on Wednesday, March 25th, at 12PM.
