Putting a fresh twist on the iconic “Taxi 12’s” that originally dropped back in 1997, Jordan Brand welcomes an elevated take on one of their many classics with this Saturday’s release of the Air Jordan 12 Retro “Royalty”. Just like the “Taxi” iteration, the silhouette features a premium white tumbled leather upper colour-blocked by black pebbled leather that wraps the lateral side from toe to midfoot. The two-toned upper is then accented by regal ‘metallic gold’ hits at the eyestays, debossed midfoot badges, as well as at the tongues embroidered branding & text, with the later two accents being a departure from the 1997 release. The release is then finished with a branded pull tab at the rear, Zoom Air cushioning stuffed within the midsole, and carbon fiber plates layered at the rubberized outsole.
