Since the silhouettes original release in 1990 and its last retro release in 2013, Jordan Brand welcomes the Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” back for its 30th anniversary. Most notably rocked by MJ during his career-high 69 point win over Cleveland, the OG Fire Red colourway returns with its crisp white leather upper and iconic 3M reflective silver tongue. The upper is then offset by a black midsole and overlaid “fire red” shark teeth, a design element inspired in part by the P-51 Mustang fighter plane from World War II. The same shade of “fire red” is then found on the Jumpman branding at the tongue, the sock liner, and on the Nike Air branding at the heel. Finishing off the silhouette, Nike Air branding is found again on the insoles, as well as a blue-tinted icy outsole and toggles at the laces.

The Air Jordan 5 Retro “Fire Red” releases this Saturday, May 2nd, through an Instagram-based raffle that starts today, April 30th, that ends Friday, May 1st, at 2:30 PM MST. Check out Instagram (@fooshyeg) for more details.
